A day ticket entitles you to be on site for a day and night, 10am-10am. If you need to discuss any other times then please get in CONTACT.

Location

The 2024 Winter Moot (and Summer Moot) is located at:
Rough Close Campsite
Tanners Lane

COVID & Social distancing

We will abide by whatever legal guidelines in place at the time of the 2024 WinterMoot. At the moment it seems there will be none, but we won’t know until the time.

Workshops / Cooking

We plan to have workshops / cooking sessions Tuesday - Saturday (Monday and Sunday are for arriving, setting up, settling in and departing)

This is a Moot based on cooking skills in the outdoors and covers a variety of preparation and cooking skills from butchering to pancakes and roasts to spong cakes.

You can be as involved as you want to be, there’s no pressure, you can relax or knead bread, go for a walk or carve a spoon.

No doubt there will be some bushcraft craft and skill practice going on as well.

Food

As this is an outdoor cooking event everyone that has a ticket to attend will get to share in what’s produced in the cooking workshops, sometimes this will be a good amount of food and other times it will be a taster of what’s produced. It all depends on what is being made, how much and how many people are involved.

The focus of the event is to enjoy and learn cooking skills in the outdoors.

Please note that this is a self catering event with some subsidised food produced during workshops. You will need to make sure that you have your own food for your needs*.

*Breakfasts and Evening meals can be provided as a small paid extra, each day there will be an opportunity to sign up to whatever meal is available the next morning and evening.

£5 Breakfast
£8 Evening Meal

Please make sure that you have enough food and cooking equipment for your personal needs, there are shops a short drive away is needed.

Any questions about this please ask away CONTACT

Fires & Firewood

Fires are allowed on site but need to be raised off of the ground. Please bring your own fire pit/bowl/raised fire platform with you if you intend on having your own fire.

Firewood will be provided on a best effort basis, feel free to bring your own firewood if you definitely want a fire in your camp.

No firewood can be foraged from the woodland.

Parking & kit

There is plenty of parking and the camping area isn’t far from the parking area, we will provide a trolly for moving kit from car to pitch.

Facilities & Camping

There are plenty of toilets and showers on site.
You can tent, tarp or hammock, there are plenty of clear areas and trees.
